Hello! My name is Yates Downing and I am recently graduated with a Masters in Industrial Design at Arizona State University. I have a very strong passion for the medical and outdoor industries. I enjoy designing products that solve problems with high functionality in the simplest, most efficient way. 

Within the design process, my favorite part is creating a functional prototype. To me, prototyping is an essential way to explore the functionality and practicality of a design. From ergonomics to engineering, the prototyping phase is key in determining the feasibility of mass production. I believe excellent design results in top level customer satisfaction, and long term loyalty. Great products are not temporary. Great products, and the impacts they leave, can last forever.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy going on adventures outdoors such as, surfing, skiing, hiking, camping, and road tripping. New experiences have always made life interesting for me, and I welcome the next one with open arms, wherever that may be.
